  29. I know for a fact (and am quite happy to demonstrate) that my Courier
  30. can achieve near 11520 bytes/sec on highly compressible files.  I have
  31. even seen some five second periods of PPP traffic where 10kbytes/sec
  32. was sustained.  I believe that the Sportster shares much of the same
  33. hardware as the Courier so I would be surprised is it did not perform
  34. similarly in this respect.

  36. I suggest that you may have poor telephone connections, are using faulty
  37. modems or your measurements may be flawed in some way.
